Really don't know if the name change was
legalized, and if so when.
What I do know is that Louis Emanuel Greenholtz
is listed as such in census records, and on his
marriage certificatge to Agatha Winnifred Mason
on October 8, 1921 he is listed thus.........
'Louis Grennholtz otherwise Greenwood age 21,
Tailors cutter, residence 32 Richborough Road,
Cricklewood [Hendon] Father Woolf Greenholtz
otherwise Greenwood Master Tailor

The first child, Jack Ryder Greenwood was born
November 16, 1919 Margate, Thanet, Kent and
was not registered until September 16, 1939 by
Agatha Greenwood and the father is listed as
Louis Greenwood - Master Tailor.
It is moot if indeed Louis is the childs natural father.
I was lucky to secure this certificate and have not
had any success in finding an original 1919 birth
certificate. You could perhaps check the indexes
and see if you have any success. It is difficult at
best to get results from here in Nova Scotia, Canada.
