Note: She was his second wife. They had 4 children, all of whom were
residents of Boston. He was a carver by profession. There is a
Boston record of a Clark parker marrying Nancy Greenwood 26 May
1816.

Note: He was governor of Massachusettes, elected by the Republican
Party 1857-1860.
On December 26, 1893 he was found wandering around Lynn, 20
miles from his home. The police returned him. He was then
placed in the McLean Asylum for the Insane.
On September 1, 1894 the minister from the Waltham Episcopal
Church conducted funeral services in the Banks residence.
Former Gov. George S. Boutwell gave the eulogy. President
Cleveland sent condolences. A statue of Nathaniel was later
dedicated in Boston and this seems to be the one found today on
the town common in Waltham.

Note: 'Traveling painfully toward the capital by ambulance, Banks,[
Maj Gen. Nathaniel P. Banks] received news of the second battle
of Bull Run from his brother, Capt. Gardner Banks, who met him
en route.' This was around September 1st. He also told him of
the death of their brother there on August 28, 1862. [James G.

2nd Lt. Hiram Banks was listed as being in Co. K and B, 16th
Mass. Infantry. This was also his rank when he died (index-LDS
reel 881871) He was commissioned and mustered on 10 April and
transferred to Co. B 9 Aug. 1862.
